Florist Christie Leigh shares her holiday wishlist!

Home or away for the festive season?
"Mixing both this year and spending Christmas Day at home in London followed by a Boxing Day get away to the countryside with family and friends."

What's one thing you're leaving in 2024?
"Cleaning flower buckets."

What work of art made you see things differently?
"I lived in Lanzarote for a little while when I was growing up. There's an artist called Cesar Manrique who is from the Island and you can see his influencer everywhere there. From his distinct style in architecture to paintings to furniture design to sculptures. His work had a massive influence on me from an early age. I love how he married nature with modernism and design. He saw the beauty in the terrain and represented it in his work. It taught me to look for inspiration in everything when approaching floral design and to bend with nature and let it sing. I didn't realise until I embarked on my floristry career how much his work affected me."

What does Christmas dinner look like for you?
"Turkey and all the trimmings."

Last gift you gave?
"An antique humidor for a cigar loving friend."

Thoughts on Mistletoe?
"LOVE!! Fun fact - Mistletoe isn't like a normal plant. It's parasitic, which means it has to grow on other trees to survive."

What artists are you excited about for 2025?
"My dear friend Anousha Payne whose work is simply incredible. She has lots of exciting things in the pipeline for 2025!"
